Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing angels, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in strength within the city.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of characters who will split off from the primary party to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a traditionally charged battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might seem mismatched, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death started the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as important members in the influential clan could assist the party access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
Future Episodes
Based on the recent installment’s follow-up content, we discover that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to round up the Questers and Planners parties.
