Assassin's Creed Unveils Surprising AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that challenges traditional predictions, the game developer has revealed an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Disclosed
According to the official announcement, "An unusual meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where whispers of prohibited practices and fearsome transformations reverberate through the shadows." The plot presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a secret cult.
The mission centers on "strange tests and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Transformations
The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Additional Content
Players who accomplish the adventure will receive an unique katana together with multiple objects concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Update
This release also introduces the game's latest free story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also features a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
